Today's children are growing up in a digital world that is changing faster than our prevention strategies. Students do not experience digital risks in separate categories. Social media, gaming, direct messaging, grooming, cyberbullying, exploitation, unhealthy relationships and adult misconduct increasingly occupy the same connected online environment.

Social media can become a grooming pathway. Gaming relationships can move into private messages. Cyberbullying can become sexual harassment or coercion. An online friendship can gradually become manipulation, secrecy, exploitation or sex trafficking.
